Showcases YKK AP America’s contributions toward global sustainability goals

Nov. 14, 2024 – YKK AP Inc. has issued its annual report, “YKK AP Integrated Report 2024”, which serves as a communication tool for all stakeholders such as customers, business partners, and local communities. The 2024 report showcases YKK AP America’s progress in support of the organization’s global sustainability goals, “Evolution 2030.” It can now be viewed here and on the YKK AP website.

YKK AP’s “Evolution 2030” was established last year. Its vision is to contribute to the global environment, create new value for customers, and prioritize employee well-being and engagement. YKK AP America is supporting this vision in important ways: 

• Sustainability Investments: YKK AP has committed $330 million globally through 2030 for renewable energy, efficient equipment, and automation. Investments like YKK AP America’s new Residential facility and planned facilities upgrades are key to achieving an 80% reduction in global Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.    
• Low-Carbon Aluminum: 80% of YKK AP America’s aluminum is now sourced from low-carbon North American suppliers, lowering Scope 3 emissions in line with YKK AP’s goal to cut these by 30% by 2030.  
• Recycling & Circular Production: YKK AP recycles 100% of in-house aluminum scrap, with 30% recycled content in its aluminum billets to support a sustainable circular model.  
• Eco-Friendly Product Innovation: YKK AP’s high-insulation, energy-saving products are designed to reduce energy use and carbon emissions in buildings, supporting sustainable development in the built environment.
• Responsible Sourcing & Ethical Supply Chain: YKK AP prioritizes responsible procurement and environmentally conscious material sourcing, ensuring safe and ethical practices throughout the supply chain. Learn more about our Responsible Procurement guidelines here.
• Employee Engagement:  YKK AP America’s President and CEO, Oliver Stepe, and Chief HR Officer, Patrys Wiid, highlighted  the company’s CARE Conversations program in the global report.
